"Palewave" is a relaxed late 80s/early 90s inspired style of clothing that became popular somewhere in late July of 2014. First started as a joke, the trend was soon picked up as a real trend and started to be taken seriously by some. It's palette is consisted of very light and pale tones of colors such as blue, brown, gray... etc. The "main" piece of clothing of the "palewave" is pale denim: pale jeans, pale jean jackets... etc. Some say it has evolved from "normcore" (pale supporters deny this), and some, more extreme accusations say that it is no different from "normcore" (pale supporters obviously deny this as well). Some also say that is the complete opposite from the "goth ninja" (also known as "hood ninja, ghetto ninja, goof ninja, street ninja") and that the style was invented for the soul purpose of making fun of the, now outdated, "goth ninja" trend. Styles and trends that definitley influenced "palewave" are: early 90s, late 80s, vaporwave, seapunk, normcore, dadcore and, well, goth ninja.
